Anna "Annie" Wellner, daughter of John Wellner Sr. and Magdalene Muench, was born May 23 1885 in the Town of Edson, Chippewa County, Wisconsin. She attended area schools. Anna was an honorary member of St. Ann's Altar Society in Edson and a member of Sacred Heart Parish. She died December 22 1984 at Victory Memorial Hospital, Stanley, Wisconsin after 99 years, 6 months and 29 days of life. Anna's obituary appeared in the Thursday, December 27 1984 edition of the Stanley Republican (page 2). Funeral services were held December 27 1984 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Edson, Wisconsin with Father Roy Mish officiating. Anna was laid to rest December 27 1984 in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Edson, Wisconsin.
Anna married John Swatzina October 10 1905 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Edson, Wisconsin with Rev. Nau officiating. The announcement of their marriage appeared in the Saturday, October 14 1905 edition of the Stanley Republican (page 7). They had four children: Rose (b.1909), Elizabeth, Henrietta and Edward. John and Anna lived in the Town of Edson until 1968 when they moved to the City of Stanley, Wisconsin.
John Swatzina, son of George Swatchina and Doriato Hurka, was born June 24 1883 in Wisconsin. He died August 18 1975 in Stanley, Wisconsin after 92 years, 1 month and 25 days of life. John was laid to rest in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Edson, Wisconsin.
