Mildred B. Koutney/Slawson

Mildred B. Koutney/Slawson, 85, formerly of Chippewa County passed away Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, at the Clark County Health Care Center.

She was born on Oct. 22, 1924, in Yankton, S.D., the daughter of Chester A. and Frances G. (Mitchell) Moll.

Mildred married Frank Koutney on Nov. 20, 1941, in Cadott.

She loved to make quilts and hand work of all kinds. Some of her many interests were time spent playing cards, parties and being with her family.

Mildred is survived by her children: Rose (Lyle) Brandt of Stanley, Joseph Koutney of Portland, Ore., James (Debbie) Koutney of Mineral, Wash., Barbara (Ben) Ginder of Cadott, Mary Ann (Clifford) Cote of Holcombe, David (Barbara) Koutney of Eau Claire, Richard (Tammy) Briggs of Sturgeon Bay, Carol Hall of West St. Paul, Minn., and Robert (Linda) Rudi of Gilman. She is also survived by: 19 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and one great-great- grandchild.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husbands, Frank Koutney and Lyle Slawson; sons, John Koutney and Clarence Macak; a grandson, Robert Rudi Jr.; three sisters; and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 18 at the Leiser Funeral Home in Cadott with Rev. George Olinske officiating. Burial will be in the Bohemian National Cemetery in the town of Arthur.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11:30 a.m. on Monday.
