Curtis Franklin Van Horn, son of Barnard Van Horn and Sophia Clinesmith, was born February 1863 in Richland County, Ohio. He died in Clifton, Illinois April 5 1902 after 39 years of life. Curtis was laid to rest in Ashkum, Illinois.
Curtis married Nellie Raboin December 24 1895 in West Pullman, Cook County, Illinois.1 They had four children: Lucille, Barnard (b.1897), Helen (b.1898) and Curtis (b.1902).2
Nellie Delia Raboin was born in Iroquois County, Illinois March 22 1873. She died September 30 1918 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin after 45 years, 6 months and 8 days of life. Cause of death was paralysis. Funeral services were held in Clifton, Illinois, her former hometown, on October 4 1918 with the Rev. W. W. Howard of Tremont, Illinois officiating. She was buried in Ashkum, Illinois, being laid to rest beside her first husband, Curtis F. Van Horn (brother of William F. Van Horn).2
In 1900, Curtis and Nellie, with their children Barnard and Helen, were living in Calumet Township, Cook County, Illinois. Curtis was working as an iron machinist. Eunice Raboin, Nellie's sister, was living with them at the time.3
In 1910, Nellie (widowed), with her children Barnard, Helen and Curtis, were living in Clifton, Chebanse Township, Iroquois County, Illinois.4
