Fred Naiberg, son of Frank Naiberg Sr. and Josephine Roshell, was born February 17 1896 in Marshalltown, Marshall County, Iowa.1 He was baptized October 2 1932 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Boyd, Wisconsin. Fred married Rachel Matilda Lancor September 28 1920 in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. He died March 3 1980 at the Golden Age Home, Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin after 84 years and 15 days of life. He entered the home in November of 1979. The cause of death was natural causes. Fred's obituary appeared in the Thursday, March 6 1980 edition of the Cornell Courier. Funeral services were held March 6 1980 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Cadott, Wisconsin with Father Jerome Gerum officiating. He was laid to rest March 6 1980 in the Cadott Brooklawn Cemetery, Cadott, Wisconsin.
Fred grew up and attended school in Marshalltown, Iowa and moved to the Cadott area as a young man with his parents.
On June 5 1917, Fred completed a World War I draft registration card. On the card he claimed exemption from the draft, stating that he had his mother and father to support.2
In 1920, Fred was boarding with the John and Josephine Burich family in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. His occupation was recorded as shipyard laborer. It is said that Fred worked as a rivet catcher in the Manitowoc shipyards.3
