JOSEPH ROSHELL JR


Joseph "Joe" Roshell Jr., son of Joseph Rousar Sr. and Franziska Novotny, was born Sep 14 1872 in Svratouch, Bohemia (Czech Republic). He immigrated53 to the United States in 1875 with his parents. Joseph was naturalized circa 1893 in Marshall County, Iowa. He died Jan 8 1937 at his home in the Town of Arthur, Chippewa County, Wisconsin after 64 years, 3 months and 25 days of life. Cause of death was pneumonia. Funeral services were held Jan 12 1937 from the home under the auspices of the ZCBJ Lodge with William Buresh in charge. Joseph was laid to rest Jan 12 1937 in the Bohemian National Cemetery, Town of Arthur, Chippewa County, Wisconsin.139

Joseph married Emma Koskuba Feb 10 1902 in Marshalltown, Marshall County, Iowa. They had six children: Fredrick (b.1902), Josephine (b.1904), William (b.1906), Joseph (b.1909), Theodore (b.1915) and Emma (b.1923).

Emma Koskuba was born Nov 22 1885 in Ferguson, Iowa. She died May 11 1953 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin after 67 years, 5 months and 19 days of life. Cause of death was heart attack. Funeral services were held May 14 1953 at the Leiser Funeral Home, Cadott, Wisconsin, with Rev. C. O. Johnson and William Buresh Sr. officiating. Emma was laid to rest May 14 1953 in the Bohemian National Cemetery, Town of Arthur, Chippewa County, Wisconsin.136

Joseph and Emma were charter members of the ZCBJ Lodge.

In 191056, Joseph Jr. and his family were farming in the Town of Arthur, Chippewa County, Wisconsin. Joseph Sr. and Fannie, Joseph's parents, were living with them at the time.

In 192059, Joseph Jr. and his family were farming in the Town of Arthur, Chippewa County, Wisconsin.

In 193050, Joseph Jr. and Emma, with their children Fred, William, Theodore and Emma, were farming in the Town of Arthur, Chippewa County, Wisconsin.

In 1947, Emma went to live with her daughter, Mrs. William (Emma) Stanek, in the Town of Colburn, where she resided until her death.
