Joseph "Joe" Rousar, son of Ignatz Rousar (mother unknown), was born December 12 1843 in Bohemia. He married Franziska Novotny. Joseph immigrated to the United States July 27 18751. He declared his intent to become a citizen of the United States May 3 1879 in Marshalltown, Marshall County, Iowa. Renouncing his allegiance to the Emperor of Austria, Joseph became a citizen of the United States June 6 1881 in Marshalltown, Marshall County, Iowa.2. He died March 12 1927 at the home of his son, Joseph Jr., in Drywood, Wisconsin after 83 years and 3 months of life. The cause of death was acute obstruction of bowel. Joseph's obituary appeared in the Thursday, March 17 1927 edition of the Cadott Sentinel. Funeral services were held March 15 1927 from the home with members of the Bohemian Lodge officiating. He was laid to rest March 15 1927 in the Bohemian National Cemetery, Town of Arthur, Chippewa County, Wisconsin.
