Michel Lincourt and Matilde Morel were married November 13 1855 in the parish of St-Michel d'Yamaska, Québec, Canada.1 They had ten children: Minnie (b.1856), Joseph (b.1860), Alexander (b.1861), Anna (b.1862), Mary (b.1865), Peter (b.1868), George (b.1870), Emma (b.1872), Jessica (b.1874), and one unknown.
In circa 1860, Michel and Matilde, with their children Minnie and Joseph, emigrated from Canada to Michigan. In circa 1873, Mitchel and Matilde, with their seven children, migrated from Ontonagon County, Michigan to Chippewa County, Wisconsin. On January 20 1886, Mitchel was granted a land patent, under the Homestead Act of 1862, for 160 acres of land in the Town of Delmar, Chippewa County, Wisconsin.2 The original homestead is currently owned by Robert "Sonny" Lancor, great great grandson of Mitchel.
In 1870, Mitchel and Matilde, with their six children, were living in Rockland, Ontonagon County, Michigan.3
In 1875, Mitchel and Matilde, with their seven children, were farming in the Town of Sigel, Chippewa County, Wisconsin.4
In 1880, Mitchel and Matilde, with their seven children, were farming in the Town of Sigel, Chippewa County, Wisconsin.5
In 1900, Mitchel and Matilde were farming in the Town of Edson, Chippewa County, Wisconsin.6
