MAGDALENE MUENCH


Magdalene "Lena" Muench, daughter of Antonium Munch and Helena Rainer, was born October 20 1857 in Kellnersville, Franklin Township, Manitowoc County, Wisconsin. She was baptized November 27 1857 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc, Wisconsin by Rev. Joseph Maly. Magdalene married John Wellner April 26 1876. She died November 10 1936 at her home in the Town of Edson, Chippewa County, Wisconsin after 79 years and 21 days of life.1 The cause of death was coronary sclerosis with myocarditis (inflammation of heart muscle), generalized arteriosclerosis, and senility. Her obituary appeared in the Tuesday, November 10 1936 edition of the Chippewa Herald-Telegram. The number of children and date of marriage in the obituary are incorrect. Funeral services were held November 14 1936 at St. Peter's Church in Edson with Rev. Frye officiating. Magdalene was laid to rest November 14 1936 in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Town of Edson, Chippewa County, Wisconsin.
