Mathew "Math" Zimmerman, son of William Zimmerman and Mary Hoffman, was born December 4 1881 in Edson Township, Chippewa County, Wisconsin. He married Rosa Wellner May 12 1908. Mathew died April 22 1957 at his home in Stanley, Wisconsin after 75 years, 4 months and 18 days of life. The cause of death was suicide.1 Math's obituary appeared in the Friday, April 26 1957 edition of the Stanley Republican. Funeral services were held April 25 1957 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Boyd with Monsignor Hilary Leuther officiating. He was laid to rest April 25 1957 in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Boyd, Wisconsin.
